Another Crabs Treasure is Aggro Crab’s second game. This released after one of the extremely fantastic game, Going Under. Going under was a mimic of startup culture set within a roguelike. Not sure whether they’ll always go for these meta-commentary games, but even if they did, It’ll probably fine. That’s because they’ve made perfect combination between humour and gameplay twice already. This is a love letter to and satire of so much of FromSoftware‘s work. All wrapped up in a cute crab main character who just trying to get their home back. This also spread a deeply uncomfortable message about pollution that we all know but rarely get to play through.
On this game, you’ll play as that crab protagonist, named Krill. He is a small crab who has fallen on hard times. It happened because a local bad guy decided to start taxing everyone so they can gain an unilateral benefits. This ends badly for Kril and sends you on a quest to reclaim your own shell. Things begin very calmly, but as is the case in practically every Soulslike, things quickly deteriorate. The game’s universe itself is in dangerous situations.
Challenging Yet Fun Battles
In you compared this to Soulsike, the battle is simpler. But there are a few pretty interesting twists. Along with regular and charge attacks, you gain the opportunity to not only wear different shells (each with a distinct weight and toughness). But you can also utilize magic to generate some abilities from those shells. Let’s say, you get inside a can of fizzy. Then you’d have ability to shoot a few magical bubbles at your opponents. You’ll find those shells everywhere. Even during boss battles, those various shells are littered, allowing you to change up your combat approach at anytime.
Many of the bosses are extremely challenging, while some fall down quickly. Even diehard Dark Souls and Elden Ring masters will run into the occasional wall. That’s what make this game pretty enjoyable. It’s also fun because the path to triumph is always visible, even if it can be a little blurry. Another Crab’s Treasure is a great choice if you enjoy playing tough but relaxed games. You can reduce damage, make yourself indestructible, adjust parry window timings, or just equip yourself with a pistol. All of these are amazing, and should be a good pattern for other games in the genre.
Conclusion
Another Crab’s Treasure is a spoof on the Soulslike genre that hits an excellent combination of comedy and tribute. This is a fun and amazing game with a positive message. When you combine all of this with the wonderful graphics and outstanding sound design, you’ll have a game that is simply enjoyable. Even sometimes you’d probably lost during the game, but you’d can still feel a pleasure.
